Weekend with Ian

Image
Meg took Aaron and Edward to a Pokemon tournament in Salem for the weekend, so Ian and I have been spending great 1:1 time together. The weather has been nice and sunny, so we've taken walks in the neighborhood, ridden our bikes to Oaks Bottom and hiked along the bluff trail, and spent some time tending the garden and giving Shelli the turtle some needed time out-of-doors. We also might have played some Lego Indiana Jones on the Wii, but just a little bit. We eat only when necessary, so not much, but we made sure to take lots of candy on our outside adventures.

First Ride of the Year

Image
Last year started great, in terms of my outlook and dedication to going on long bicycle rides: I did 20+ mile rides in each of the first three months. But the remainder of the year saw no such rides. 2014 started on the right foot, however, as Aaron and I spent much of New Year's day combining movie watching (Ender's Game at the Laurelhurst) and burger eating (Burgerville) and video game buying (Fire Emblem) with riding our bicycles 15 miles total in a giant loop around the city. The sun was visible in the sky for the whole day, but we really couldn't feel any of its heat. I have no pictures to prove it (the picture here is what the day looked like, though taken a few weeks later), so you'll have to trust my rusty memory.
