Watching the Ducks at Mac Court

It's nice to have family with all the sweek hookups. While I was putting the kids to be on Friday night, Megan's brother Jared left a message inviting me to go to the Ducks/Arizona game with him on Saturday--quickest call I've ever returned. Meg decided to come, too, giving Charlotte some help with her two little ones (both younger than Edward), while Jared and I were at the game.

Like my trip to Autzen in October, I've never been to Mac court before, and it was surreal walking up the stairs to our seats on the second level. I hope they never tear down the building just so they can cram more fans in; it is an amazing place to watch a basketball game, and surely a huge advantage to the Ducks (although clearly not enough today). The building was literally rocking for most of the game. Our seats were in a great spot, and we had a perfect view of what could have been the game-winning shot by Tajuan Porter with 22 seconds left.

The entire game was exciting, even though the Ducks couldn't hold the lead to the buzzer. We had good views of Joey Harrington the whole game, but I didn't spot Phil Knight.

Yeah, Mac court is the best place in the world to see a b-ball game. I only went to a couple when i was there, but I remember one. It was against Cal when Jason Kidd was there. This was back when the Ducks sucked at football and basketball, so when they almost beat them, that place was rocking. Did you sit in the uppper level that is suspended from the ceiling? That level sways when the crowd gets going. I also skipped my biology lab to go see Bill Clinton there during the 92 campaign. "So I said, that depends on what your definition of is is, jerk. Now give me $250000."
